Do you think it’s helpful to read (or re-read) any previous novels before jumping into “The Secret of Secrets”?

Also, can we objectively agree that this is just not a very good book title? It feels like the subtitle to the future 14th installment of the Indiana Jones franchise.

No need to read or reread anything -- Langdon starts each new novel fully formed, as if sprung from Zeus's forehead. 😂

And I'd actually forgotten the character in The Secret of Secrets (which, yes, is objectively a bad title) was the same one from The Lost Symbol until about halfway through.

I enjoyed Brown’s first two novels; additionally “Angels And Demons” - not so much the remaining, although, to be fair, I haven’t read “The Secret Of Secrets”.

Give it a shot! It's his best one since Da Vinci Code!

I think I've only read your number one ranked, so this list validates my choice, but I have to say I am also impressed you've read all of these!! And I agree about the chokehold DaVinci Code had on culture at the time, especially because things still were able to truly take over the conversation in a way that's more challenging with all the bifurcation today.

Yes! There was still the possibility for nuance in 2003. 😅
